On December 5th, the Wildcat Wrestling team hosted their first Assembly Dual Meet. The team was able to compete in front of their fellow students. A truly great atmosphere for the whole student body to witness. Oxford defeated Airport High School, 48-28. In their second match, Oxford defeated #9 ranked John Glenn High School, 32-31.
"I am extremely grateful to Principal Wolf for allowing us to put this event on today. The student body was amazing and represented us in their typical fashion, with class," said Athletic Director Jordan Ackerman "Coach Wingert did an excellent job putting his vision into motion and the student-athletes performed great. This event was another example of why it is great to be an Oxford Wildcat. Having a student body that is All In by showing respect to the opposing teams, officials, other spectators, and themselves allows us to do fun and creative things," finished Mr. Ackerman.
"After our initial dual we asked for a stronger collective effort. We finished the day with a more definitive purpose and at this point of the season that's all we can ask for. This team is hungry and dangerous. Our staff is excited for the progress to be made." - Head Coach Ross Wingert
